In collaboration with Mrs. Huda Mohammed Salih, lecturer at the Department of English Language, two second- year students at the Department of English Language held on the 14th of December 2015 at the Seminar Hall of the Faculty of Humanities a seminar about the impact of higher education on society.

The seminar focused on the role of the higher education sector, in order to establish a culturally distinct society and pave the way for developing social reforms. Furthermore it was mentioned that universities and institutes do not have only the duty in distributing scientific degrees, but most also raise an emerging new generation which is tied to science to improve the society and meet the needs of the Kurdistan Region.

Following the presentation of the two students, participants took an active part in scientific debates, regarding the possibilities in developing the Kurdish society through stronger linkages with the higher education sector.
